VYC MONTHLY EVENTS

During mixers, participants explore new activities and share feedback to help shape the program and community space.

This event naturally encourages movement throughout different areas of the center, allowing participants to try a variety of leisure activities such as art, gaming, gardening, and reading—especially in spaces they may not have previously experienced.

Throughout the event, participants are invited to vote on program and space decisions, such as selecting lounge games, choosing garden plants, or identifying new art supplies to introduce. These votes directly inform real changes, ensuring the space reflects participant interests and choices.

This original version of the Voice Your Choice program is held in the meeting room and centers on themed discussions.

With visual and communication supports as needed, participants engage in activities such as Would You Rather to spark conversation and compare preferences, and Chattergories to brainstorm ideas. Participants also share personal favorites with the group.

The group leader helps identify shared interests and connections between participants, supporting the development of friendships and encouraging joint activities.
